Hello, I'm Max...

Max is a	closet hippy!First of all, there is one thing that I would like to set the record straight on. I am not a guy. Never was, never will be. Max is short for Maxime (no that is not a typo). People often ask why I'm Maxime and not Maxine. It's an interesting story if you care to hear it.

Gemini I am a Gemini with a Capricorn Moon and Pisces Rising, born in the year of the Rabbit/Cat -- which explains an awful lot.Capricorn (If that makes no sense to you, perhaps you should check out my Esoterica Page and learn something new). Like most Geminis, I tend to make money via a variety of communications oriented jobs; Piscesalthough the Capricorn Moon insures that I don't practice all of them at the same time!

I had to leave the reel world for the real world.I love to learn new things all the time, and would be a professional student if I could afford it. My B.A., obtained from Brooklyn College, is in Film Production. For quite some time I've worked as a freelance film and video editor and while I love it, the lack of stability and benefits (the Rabbit/Cat influence) has postponed my dream of an Academy Award. Currently I earn my daily bread selling educational software and other financial training products. With an education in the Arts, you can bet that I am riding a pretty steep learning curve now! Luckily I work for an educational institution! NYIF is a division of Simon & Schuster which brings me to another subject I love -- books.

I honestly don't remember learning to read, it just seems to me that I've simply been doing it from day 1. Books were my most faithful companions growing up, and have yet to lead me astray. My favorite genres are Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I'll read just about anything if I'm desperate enough. Books also led me to my soulmate.

Gerry-n-Max TLAGerry and I first met as coworkers at a bookstore, found that we had a lot in common and quickly became good friends. The friendship soon blossomed into a mutual attraction. However, being sensible, rational adults who both know the value of a good friend, we decided not to become romantically involved with each other. We've been quite happily (and romantically) married since 1991 (so much for resolve).

My love of reading does not preclude my guilty love of television, however. Like many of my peers, TV was my surrogate parent during my formative years and while I agree with the critics that there is a lot of sh*t on the idiot box, I never forget that roses grow from the smelliest of fertilizer.

Rounding out my interests are: arts and crafts, SF Fandom, music, theater, alternative spirituality and writing HTML code.
